Dear Middle Keys Toastmasters, 

I am very excited to serve as President of this prestigious organization this year.  

Over the years, our club has been blessed by the nurturing and leadership of an elite group of toastmasters, namely  Cheryl Roll, Nancy Lucas, Jack Thorley, Wanda Brock, and our Key West mentor, Phyllis May.  Last year, we were technologically enhanced and greatly served by the leadership of TM President Chris Bull and his team which featured Roberto Alonso as Vice President of Education.  Many thanks to the dedication of those who led before me and created this invaluable personal and professional development organization as a resource in our community. 

FYI, Toastmasters  has been used by many famous U.S. and  international  leaders, astronauts,  actors, fortune 500 CEOs,  in addition to 1000s of people world wide. Enjoy a list of  famous Toastmasters.

Jana Barnhill, Toastmasters' 2008-2009 International President, described the Toastmaster process so clearly.   "We give people the courage to change!  How so? Week after week we come together in our club meetings.  We stand before each other and practice what we are uncomfortable doing.  We may struggle at first, but our fellow members look at us and say, ' You can do this! Try it this way.'..  Each time we do, we build more confidence."

Some of us want to conquer fear of public speaking, some want to polish our gift, and some want to enhance professional or personal effectiveness and  explore 'what we don't know we don't know' about being a better communicator and leader.  Whatever your objectives are...you are invited to grow with Middle Keys Toastmasters and achieve greatness together!
